You can delete your MathVision account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. You do not need to ask us and you do not need a reason. This page explains where the button is, what is removed, and what we are obliged to keep.
This is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore the account afterwards. If you only want to stop notifications, turn them off in your phone's settings instead — that leaves your history intact.
You are signed out as soon as the deletion finishes. If a child's account was created under your family, deleting your own parent account does not delete theirs; each account is deleted separately, from that account.
A deletion request does not depend on being able to open the app. If you have forgotten your password, changed phone number, or the app will not start, email us and we will do it for you:
Write "Delete my MathVision account" in the subject line and send it from the email address the account uses, so we can tell it is you. If you no longer have that address, tell us the child's name and the centre they attend and we will verify another way before deleting anything. We action requests within 5 working days and reply to confirm when it is done.
Everything below is removed from our systems at the moment you confirm. It is a hard delete, not a flag on a row that stays behind.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your profile | Name, email address, phone number, year of study, school, photo, time zone and role. Deleted. |
| Your login | The account itself, its password, and any sign-in sessions. Deleted — the credentials no longer exist and cannot be used again. |
| Messages you sent | Deleted, including any that were still awaiting review. |
| Files and voice notes you sent | The stored objects themselves are removed from our file storage, not merely unlinked. |
| Your conversations | Your membership of every thread, and read receipts, reactions and replies to notices. Deleted. |
| Notification tokens | Deleted, so the account can never be pushed to again. |
| Session bookings and requests | The record of who asked is cleared. Where a booking has already happened, see below. |
Three things survive a deletion. None of them is a copy of your conversations.
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The centre's own records — enrolment, attendance, fees paid and invoices | These are the tuition centre's business records and are held outside the app. We are required to keep them whether or not you use the app, and deleting the app account does not and cannot delete them. | As required by Singapore law, generally 5 years |
| Administrative log entries — that an action such as a booking or an approval took place | Kept so the centre can account for what was done. Your identifier is removed from these entries when the account is deleted, so they no longer point at you. | De-identified immediately; entries retained up to 2 years |
| Anonymous crash reports | When the app crashes it sends the error and where in the code it happened. These carry no name, no email and no message content, so there is nothing in them to connect to you and nothing to delete by name. | Up to 90 days, then automatically discarded |
If you sent a message to the office and a member of staff replied, your message is deleted with your account — but their reply is theirs, and it stays in the thread. This is the same in every messaging app: you can withdraw what you wrote, not what somebody wrote back.
Our hosting provider keeps encrypted backups of the database on a rolling schedule, and a deleted account may persist in one of those until it is overwritten in the normal course. Backups are only ever used to recover from a failure of the whole system. We do not read them, we do not restore individual accounts from them, and deleted data is not brought back.
