These terms govern your use of the MathVision app. By creating an account or using the
app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who we are
The app is operated by MathVision Enrichment Centre Pte Ltd (UEN 200712084Z), of
1 Claymore Drive, Orchard Towers Rear Block, #08-12, Singapore 229594 ("MathVision", "we", "us").
2. Who may use the app
The app is for families enrolled at MathVision and for our staff. It is not open to
the general public.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must set up your account and agrees to
these terms on your behalf. They remain responsible for your use of the app.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done
through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Accounts are personal. Do not share one, and do not use somebody else's.
3. Using the app properly
When using MathVision, you agree not to:
send anything unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory;
send content that is not yours to send, or that infringes someone's rights;
upload malware, or attempt to break, probe, or overload the service;
attempt to access another family's conversations or any account that is not yours;
use the app to advertise, or to send bulk unsolicited messages;
copy, scrape, or redistribute content from the app outside its intended purpose.
Messages and files you send are visible to the people described in our
Privacy Policy, including other members of your household and the
MathVision staff responsible for your enquiry. Please bear that in mind before sending
anything sensitive.
The app is not for emergencies. Messages are answered during office
hours and may not be seen straight away. If a child is unwell or at risk, call our office
directly or the appropriate emergency service — do not rely on a message in the app.
4. Session bookings
Most sessions you book are confirmed straight away. Some need us to
confirm them first — short-notice bookings, and IA or EE support, for example. The
app tells you which before you send, and again on the session itself.
Sessions are a minimum of two hours.
We may need to reschedule, reassign the teacher, or occasionally cancel a session. If
that happens we will contact you.
You may book against any course listed in the app. Booking one does not enrol the
student in it, and our office will be in touch if a different course or level suits
the student better.
Fees, cancellation notice periods, and any charges for missed sessions are governed
by the tuition agreement between you and MathVision, not by these terms. The app does
not take payment.
5. Calls
The app can place voice calls between families and our staff over the internet. Call
quality depends on your connection, and calls are not a substitute for an emergency
telephone line. We record the fact and duration of a call, but not its audio.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you send. You grant us permission to store, transmit,
and display it as needed to run the service and to provide tuition — nothing more. We do
not use your content for marketing or to train anything.
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to send what you send, including
photographs of work belonging to other people.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the app running, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or
error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance, change or remove features, or discontinue
it, and we will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can. The app is
provided "as is" to the fullest extent the law allows.
8. Suspending or closing accounts
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen. What that removes is
described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to
misuse the service, or where a family is no longer enrolled with us.
Closing an app account does not by itself end your tuition agreement with MathVision,
and vice versa.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for
death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of
profits or opportunity, or for any loss arising from a message not being delivered or
read in time, from a session being rescheduled or cancelled, or from your reliance on the app
in an urgent situation. Our total liability in connection with the app is limited to the
fees you paid MathVision for tuition in the three months before the claim arose.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, where the change is
significant, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you
accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have
exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
